Hall Drilling is the operator of this commercial UIC 2 well near Ellenboro in Ritchie county. This disposal well is part of a waste facility, part of which is devoted to the recycling of Marcellus flowback for reuse in fracturing other Marcellus wells. The facility's location is off Route 50 close to the primary area for horizontal Marcellus activity in West Virginia.
The facility is large and complex. A group of Google Earth images is available, keyed to the image below. Clicking on a letter will bring up that area's Google Earth image. The whole facility can also be seen. Area A was the site for injection well 47-085-09669. Area E is the site for injection well 47-085-09909. Areas B, E, G, and H appear to be used to store materials for drilling wells. Area F appears to have gravel and other materials and also serves as a helicopter pad. D and C are the two large pits on the site. The large building shown in C possibility is the flowback recycling facility. I is another well.
Security at this facility appears to be limited to the fenced perimeter for the UIC2 well site and fencing around all (or part) of the 2 large pits.
