Well drilled in 1964
Producing formation(s): Big Lime, Oriskany
Geographic location: latitude 38.501728, longitude -81.764617

Visited first in 2008

A cluster of wells without API numbers is at the southern end of the long main well access road. This is the second, just after 47-079-00702. This is the only older well in the no API group.

There was a substantial dike around the large tank but no visible rainwater drain.

Maintenance problems include the need for paint for the metal at the site.

We have no idea the purpose of the rusty four-legged device by the Christmas tree. We've not seen a similar device before.

An API number is required by state regulations to be displayed at the well. This well is probably 47-079-00706 as determined by studying maps in the Office of Oil and Gas.

The metal at this well is in need of paint.

The tank has a satisfactory dike except for the absence of a rainwater drain.

In the distance is a cleared pipeline right-of-way to the east of the well.

Visited again in 2010

There had been no changes to the site and equipment after two years.

The wellhead is to the left. The tall slender tank in front of the storage tank is used to separate fluids from the natural gas. Those fluids are diverted to the storage tank using the pressure of the natural gas.

The separator was rusty, as was the piping at the wellhead.

The wellhead had a tag but no API number.

There were two empty plastic cat litter tubs left on the edge of the pad.
