Weather is changeable in spring. It can be in the 70s one day and then in the 20s the next. Everything is hardy enough to stand the cold, though.
A late spring snow dampens the spirits of these emerging leaves.

This is a centipede that is common around here. The round objects are hickory nut husks.
Some butterflies manage to survive the winter and with the other insects create clusters of activity in the yard and garden.

Ferns emerge and unfurl their fronds ready for a new year. These are Christmas Ferns. The old fronds lasted most of the winter.
