Texture and change is also present during winter.
This is a view of a piece of bark starting to fall from a dead Dogwood tree. A virus has killed most of the Redbud and Dogwood trees on the ridge. The drier climate weve had recently is a factor I believe, as is the overall change in the woods that has taken place over the years as more mature second growth timber starts to block light going to the understory.

This is a picture of Pine needles lying on the snow. It creates a beautiful pattern that looks like it could be easily made into a Japanese textile print.

This is a late afternoon picture of our buildings looking uphill to the east. The House is to the left, the Shop next to the right and then the Shack. The small building in the foreground is the Privy.

The
Great Morel Hunt
tells about Molly's and George's hunt for the Great
Morel Forest, a semi-mythical place briefly seen in Spring 2000.
We attempt to find it again.
