This area permit is for a large number of secondary recovery injection wells (about 75) with associated production wells in Harrison county. These wells are set in an old production field with wells which were completed with no cement behind the casing.

Major issue

  • Area permit Area of Review includes a large number of old wells which have no cement behind any string of casing. Early plugging techniques included wood plugs and use of gravel and/or clay plugging material. Some of the drinking water soures within the AOR show signs of oil and gas contamination.
