In August 2016 we copied a large portion of the Office of Oil and Gas online databases for Mechanical Integrity Tests, Inspections and Permitting. We copied the online results for the following counties: Barbour, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Lewis, McDowell, Mercer, Monongalia, Pleasants, Putnam, Raleigh, Ritchie, Roane, Tucker, Upshur, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood, and Wyoming. These databases are no longer available online so we are presenting our copies here.
These database copies need to be used with caution. There are errors sometimes in the databases. We copied databases by county and didn't copy all the counties with UIC wells. Just because a well doesn't appear on our database copy, doesn't mean that information wasn't available at that time.
The copies are available in two forms. One is a downloadable Excel file with all the material copied in separate worksheets for the databases.
An abbreviated form of the database copy is available as online searchable tables. These tables have all the records for most of the columns that the online databases had. These tables don't include operator names and in the case of MITs don't include columns with information on Part II MITs (generally notice of when cementing records were examined for a well). Again, the copied online database with all the downloaded information is available as an Excel workbook.
