Natural Gas: Trashing the Surface Owner
Trash has been noted at a number of sites, including: 47-039-02026, 47-039-05714, and 47-039-05999 in Kanawha county and 47-079-00702, 47-079-00735, 47-079-00739, 47-079-00746, 47-079-01314, 47-079-01363 in Putnam County.
47-039-02026 is shown in the video. There is an environmental assessment available for this site. The video mentions two pit locations. The possible original pit is a short distance away down the hillside. Exposed pit liner and waste are visible at another location and are from what we believe is a workover pit. We don't believe plastic pit liner was used by this operator in the 1960s but the Office of Oil and Gas has no record of a permit being granted for a workover.
